American Welding & Gas, a family and teammate owned company, is headquartered in Raleigh, NC. AWG traces its history to Valley Welders Supply in Billings, MT and Scott-Gross Company in Lexington, KY - both of which began in 1949. The Company has grown both organically and through acquisition to its present size. AWG manufactures and distributes industrial, medical, specialty and beverage gases and associated welding and safety supplies. We operate over 100 retail locations and 22 gas fill plants located in twenty-two states stretching from Montana to Pennsylvania and down through Texas and Florida. AWG has over 800 employees who serve our customers in over 30 states and Canada.
Our gas fill plants create industrial, medical, specialty and beverage gas products that are distributed to the Company's wholesale and retail customers. AWG supplies its customers with products ranging from bulk quantities of cryogenic gases to individual packaged gas cylinders. We distribute our products using a fleet of over 250 trucks and trailers. The majority of our distribution fleet is comprised of palletized cylinder delivery trucks that deliver compressed gas cylinders and other welding supplies to individual customers. Also included in our fleet are cryogenic tankers used to deliver bulk quantities of oxygen (both medical and industrial), nitrogen, argon and carbon dioxide and tube trailers used to deliver compressed nitrogen, hydrogen and helium in bulk quantities.
The Company has a diversified customer base. As one of the largest independent gas and welding supply distributors, AWG has the expertise, assets and sources of supply necessary to service large, bulk cryogenic gas customers as well as small one man businesses.
