Thoroughbred Industrial Cylinder Exchange History

In 2002, Thoroughbred Industrial Cylinder Exchange was created by The Scott-Gross Company, a 50 year old welding supply distributor based in Lexington, KY. Philip Scott, the former Scott-Gross Company President, provided the industry knowledge, working capital, and market insight that led to the successful launch.

Thoroughbred Industrial Cylinder Exchange has developed the most complete and safely packaged cylinder and gas exchange program in the industry. Our network includes over 1,000 cylinder exchange locations across the Central and Eastern United States. Our customers include Farm & Fleet, Hardware, Do It Yourself, Automotive and Industrial customers.

Precautions and Safe Practices for Welding and Cutting Gas

Always read the safety information and the material Safety Data Sheets (SDS) supplied by the manufacturers of gas, materials and equipment used in welding operations. This information will recommend safe practices that will protect you from health hazards, such as fumes, gases, and arc burns. Recommendations concerning ventilation and protective devices should be carefully followed.

To weld and cut safely, you must have a thorough knowledge of the welding process and equipment you will be using, and all of the hazards involved.
